Frequently Asked Questions
Good to know: When you arrive and check in at the campsite, we welcome you personally and warmly. We and our team are always available to assist you and answer all your questions. On-site, you can also download our camping app, which provides plenty of current information and updates. In other words, aside from the reservation and payment, we believe that most things can be sorted out on-site.
But for any questions you may already have, we have answered the most common ones for you here. So that you can be well prepared and feel good on your way to us and beautiful Sweden!
It is not really necessary during the pre- and post-season. However, we definitely recommend it during the high season (June/July/August). Of course, you can always try spontaneously, and we will see what is possible. It also depends on whether you are arriving with a large motorhome or a small tent :) And whether you want a larger luxury cabin or a simple cabin just for sleeping.
We have regular camping pitches, meaning the same type of pitch is suitable for both larger motorhomes and caravans, as well as smaller campervans, camping buses, trailer tents, and family tents. These are all located on different fields of our campsite and enjoy the same services and access to our facilities. Therefore, we do not offer (cheaper) motorhome pitches.
All power outlets at the campsite provide 10 amps / 230 volts.
There are 2 different connections at our campsite, depending on which pitch you are on: the blue CEE-marked (3-pin) and the 'regular outlet' (the black Schuko connector). Both outlets are protected by a residual current device (RCD). Just make sure to bring both, as they might also come in handy at another campsite.
Yes, there is! A cozy, homely, and well-equipped kitchen with 2 stove units, each with 4 electric plates. The kitchen cabinets are stocked with the necessary pots, dishes, and cutlery. There’s also a microwave and a dishwasher. Two nice, spacious tables to sit at.
Please note: we are a campsite, and everything is for shared use, so please be considerate and leave everything clean and tidy for the next person. Thank you!
We chose not to provide a shared refrigerator for general use because we don't find it hygienic or practical. All guests' food would be stored together, and our cleaning team wouldn't know when something should or shouldn't be thrown out. Therefore, you can rent your own refrigerator, which is centrally located near the service building. You will receive a key to your refrigerator at the reception, and you can use it 24/7. Please return the key when you check out. Of course, we expect you to leave the refrigerator empty, clean, and fresh.
By doing this, we keep it hygienic and clean for each other, and we believe it's fundamental to offer this to our guests who use these facilities. Please feel free to bring your own indoor slippers when you go to the service building, so you can easily change your outdoor shoes with these. For our part, it's also fine to go without shoes, whatever you prefer.
In the shower, hot water runs with a 5-SEK coin. For this, you get a lovely 5-minute warm shower. Cold water can be taken at any time.
The reason for using the 5-kr coin and limiting the hot water to 5 minutes is to keep the camping's energy consumption sustainable, while ensuring every guest has access to a warm shower. The hot shower water is separate from the kitchen and hand-washing area, so our guests will never have to shower with cold water. The system and the 5kr token machines were already in place, and we wonder why we should replace it with an elaborate and modern combined system with cards and charging. We really enjoy keeping our campsite charming and guest&familyfriendly, with "ordinary" manual doors and gate :)
This is in line with the safety regulations that apply to campsites in Sweden. This is to ensure that the caravan can be easily and quickly moved in the event of a fire or other disasters, in order to minimize spread and to save lives and property.
At the same time, if everyone parks in the same direction, you will have more private space.
Your camper must be parked with the front facing the camping road. And the caravan is placed with the draft outwards towards the camping road. This is in line with the safety rules that apply in Sweden at campsites. This is so that the motorhome/caravan can be moved easily and quickly in the event of a fire or other disaster. To reduce the spread and to save lives and property.
A positive side effect is that if everyone is facing the same direction, you have more private space. There is an exception for the 9 gravel sites by the lake, as well as site numbers 1-4 and 33-36. And if 2 friend campers arrive and leave together at the same time, they are allowed to “face each other”. However, this is done in consultation with the reception.
Yes, there is! On a central location on the campground.
We do not have fast chargers at our campsite to charge an electric car. It is perfectly possible to charge in the local area, just as you fill up at petrol stations. You will find these good and fast charging stations in various places around Tiveden; in Laxå, Askersund and Karlsborg. If the need arises, you can certainly come and charge at a separate pole that we have near the reception area, where you can charge in a slow way during the night, for example.
For those with the Swedish system, the nearest places to exchange gas bottles are in Undenäs at ICA Nära, in Laxå at Karl Hedin or Q8, and in Askersund at Shell or Byggmax.
For our foreign guests who do not have the Swedish system, it is not possible to exchange gas bottles here in Sweden, but only to have them refilled. This can be done at gasolfyllarna.se/aterforsaljare. The nearest location to our campsite is in Örebro.
It’s our own concept to create a cozy atmosphere with our guests in the large Tipi tent. You can sign up at the reception for one of the meal evenings we offer 5-6 times a week. There’s always fun with music and a drink to enjoy. We regularly arrange something fun for the kids, or a troubadour, or whatever spontaneously comes up. During the off-season, we have a fire going in the middle of the tent.
